"Separation of Ones Identity" Editorial Illustration
This is a piece that comments on the traits and characteristics that define individuals. When the things that define us are completely stripped away, we all resort to a neutral state. The metaphor is conveyed through the Zebras iconic stripes that when peeled away in fact reveal a white horse.

In order to create the piece I played with the notion of separation. I liked the idea of incorporating a universal symbol that had qualities that altered its meaning. When using the stark contrast and complimentary colors, this helped create a bold and clear meaning of the theme. By far one of my favorite animal illustrations.
